SUPPORT

A little help.
A clearer next step.

Start here for the things you do most often in IdeaFlare.

Sign in to your classroom

Choose Create an account, enter your name and email, and use the six-digit code from your inbox. Returning teachers can sign in with an email code or an enrolled passkey or authenticator.

Codes expire after ten minutes. If a code does not arrive, check your spam folder, confirm the email address, and use the resend control when it becomes available. Use the latest code.

Set up classes and import students

Open Classes, create a class, then add students individually or use Import students. Imports accept CSV or TSV files with a Name / Full Name column, or separate first and last name columns.

Review the separator, headings, and column matches before confirming the preview. Classroom display names let you choose how names appear to the class; full names and teacher notes stay in the teacher workspace.

Start a session and review its history

Open Sessions, choose New session, and select a class, animation, and edition. Basic and No Questions do not retain answer history; choose Advanced to keep recorded results for Insights.

Use Waiting, Had a Turn, groups, and manual selection to guide participation. Record whether an answer was correct, incorrect, or skipped. Resume active sessions from Sessions, or review completed ones. Completed sessions can be archived and restored for review.

Connect a classroom display

In a session's connection section, get the classroom display code. On the classroom screen, choose Open classroom display and enter that eight-character code. The display shows the student and animation while teacher controls stay on your own screen.

Keep the display open during the session. Ending the session closes its display access.

Open classroom display →

Use a teacher remote

Enable remote access from your session's connection section, open Teacher remote on your phone, and enter the remote code. Complete any pairing approval shown on the teacher controller before using the remote.

The remote follows the session's permissions, including whether resets are allowed. Keep remote codes with the teacher; the classroom display uses a separate code.

Enter remote code →

When a connection needs attention

Check that both devices have an internet connection and that the session is still active. Confirm you are using a display code for the display and a remote code for the remote. If access was revoked or the session ended, return to the teacher controller to start or reconnect the appropriate session.

If email or passkey sign-in is unavailable, try the email sign-in option and check that you are on app.ideaflare.org.
